Lots of fun was had in the academy as we embraced the opportunity to have some spooky fun with our learning - not to mention getting dressed up!
Mrs Steele was invited to share in a platter of 'zombie fingers'

Our Early Years staff and pupils all enjoyed learning in spooky ways too!
We finished our day with a 'spooky celebration assembly' and said farewell to Mr Stockwell

Middlesbrough mayoral candidate, Andy Preston, has been visiting local schools to chat with pupils and staff. On Thursday 30th April 2015, he visited Caldicotes.

Here is what Maresha, from Year 3, had to say about her experience of meeting Andy:

On Thursday, I met Andy Preston who is running for Mayor. I asked him, "How would you make our community a better place?"
He said that he would make more jobs so that the mums and dads could get jobs and he would clean all the litter up.
I thought that he was a gentle, helpful man. By Maresha.

Thanks to all the hard work and effort of the children and staff in the academy who helped to make our second annual Christmas Fayre such a success.
Due to the amazing support of our families, we raised £655.90 which the academy will put to good use enriching our pupils' curriculum, with opportunities such as the theatre visits, touring theatre groups and other similar activities.

Reindeer Parade - 30th November 2014

posted 30 Nov 2014, 14:28 by Helen Steele

Christmas 2014 was officially launched in Middlesbrough today with the annual 'Reindeer Parade' and 'Christmas Lights Switch on.'
12 children, along with Miss Mount, Miss Smith and Mrs Steele joined in the festive fun! All the children demonstrated excellent behaviour and were a credit to the academy.  The crowds came out in their numbers to see the parade, many of whom, commented on the fantastic costumes and excellent behaviour of the 'reindeers'!!

We were ably assisted throughout the parade by our 'security' attachment - Jordan and Joe, both of whom assisted and supported in keeping the children safe at all times.

As a result of all the fun we had on the day, our academy raised a magnificent £221.50 which will be utilised to support children across the country and in our local area.
Thank you - you are all heroes (and some villains!)
