  • The Wizard of Oz

Performances during the academic year 2013-2014 included:
  • On Thursday 3rd October 2013, at Corpus Christi Church, we held our annual harvest festival. The service included each phase group performing a short presentation about an aspect of harvest and we sang a selection of songs. We were fortunate to be joined by a number of parents and carers who came to support the children and join in our celebration.
  • In December, the Caldicotes Christmas Choir were invited along to UCA to sing a selection of Christmas carols at their Christmas Service. The children had a fantastically festive time and sung their hearts out, making us all very proud!
  • This year’s Christmas production was called ‘Christmas around the World’. All of the children in the academy, from nursery through to Year 6, took part in the two sell-out performances on Wednesday 11th December 2013.
  • We held our annual Christmas nativity service at Corpus Christi Church on Thursday 19th December 2013 which was organised by Miss Clough and superbly lead by children from EYFS and KS1. Once again, it was lovely to see so many parents and carers come along to support the children!
  • The academy performed its annual Easter Service which, as usual, was supposed to take place at the church. However, due to unforeseen circumstances we had to have a last minute change of venue but thanks to the world of electronic communication we were still joined by a mass of parents and carers who turned up at the academy to support the children. Although the service may not have been its usual 'polished' performance, the children were very adaptable and true superstars as they still shared their learning about this important event in the Christian year!
  • Most recently, our KS2 Performing Arts Club performed their Summer production of 'The Lion King', which took place at the academy on Tuesday 15th July. Thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of the talented cast, as well a hardworking team of staff, the show was a sellout success and very well received by the audience. Christmas Carols and Verse - 18.12.14

Christmas 'Carols & Verse'

Prefects and Academy Captains joined the children from Reception in the re-telling of the Nativity story through carols, songs and readings from the Bible.

There was not a dry eye in the church as the children enacted the story of Jesus' birth.

Children from across the academy were joined with family members, staff and Governors in the singing of the traditional and modern carols and songs.

A magical service that helped us all to remember the true meaning of Christmas.

On Thursday 23rd October, the academy welcomed the 'Arty-Fact Theatre Co. once more to perform 'The Time Capsule - 1914'.  This performance has been timed to link with the commemorations of the First World War around Remembrance Day and will link with our whole academy project after half-term.
The children were enthralled by the performance and were able to join in too!

Harvest Thanksgiving Service

posted 20 Oct 2014, 05:11 by Helen Steele

Once again children and staff were joined by Governors and family members at our Harvest service at Corpus Christi Church.

Children across the academy, from Nursery pupils to our Y6s, shared their learning and understanding about the importance of Harvest.  Their participation in the event has enabled them to complete 'Caldicotes Pledges 3 & 4'.

Thank you to all the staff, in particular; Mr Wells, Mrs Hill, Ms Welsh and Miss Edgar for their work to make our service run so smoothly.  Thank you obviously to our children for demonstrating their understanding of how to conduct themselves in church appropriately.

We are very grateful for the generosity that has been shown and will pass on the donations to the Middlesbrough Foodbank.

From time to time, we may find ourselves struggling and experiencing difficulties.  The Foodbank is one organisation that can provide emergency assistance when it is needed.

The academy is part of the Foodbank voucher scheme.  Please come and talk to us if you need some support.
