10 things about The Arts at Caldicotes Primary Academy

  1. The Arts, enhance the academy’s creative approach to our curriculum.
  2. Whole academy projects result in the creation of a variety of displays that showcase progression of art skills through the academy. 

  3. We celebrate music across the academy at every opportunity but particularly on a Musical Monday and through Teacher’s Tune in celebration assembly on a Friday. 

  4. We use a variety of instruments and technology to deliver music throughout the academy including recorders, samba drums and Garage Band software. 

  5. We enhance our music curriculum through work with outside agencies such as TVMS and School of Rock and Pop. 

  6. There are a wide variety of after school clubs to provide enrichment and support pupils to achieve Caldicotes Pledge 1. 

  7. We currently hold the Artsmark Gold and are working towards its renewal in 2015. 

  8. Each year, all pupils participate in their class assembly and whole academy performances at Harvest, Christmas and Easter, supporting pupils to achieve Caldicotes Pledge 2. The KS2 Performing Arts Club also produces a summer musical production for the rest of the academy and families to enjoy. 

  9. We promote and engage with art in the community through participating in competitions within the academy and for outside agencies. 

  10. We provide pupils with the opportunity to investigate and explore art and artists, both modern and from history.
