Week 6 in Nursery

posted 12 Jun 2015, 05:27 by Tom Kentfield-Wells   [ updated 12 Jun 2015, 05:27 ]
This week in Nursery we have been continuing to develop our skills using technology, we have been consolidating our knowledge of shapes and we have been learning to ascribe meaning to marks that we see in different places.

We have been drawing and talking about shapes.

We have been trying hard to give meaning to marks that we see by identifying graphemes and reading CVC and tricky words.

We have been continuing to use technology to interact with age appropriate software to enhance our learning.

We have had lots of fun learning through our play outside this week, even if the weather wasn’t the best that it could be!

We have been busy completing our area challenges this week.

In phonics, Miss Pounder’s group have been developing their oral blending and segmenting skills. This week we have been looking at the phase 3 graphemes ai, ee and igh. We learnt the tricky word ‘you’ this week.

Mrs Edgar’s group have been listening carefully to initial phonemes in words and developing their oral blending and segmenting skills. We really enjoyed making silly soup and developing ‘sound talk’ when speaking to Emerald.

Mrs Dean’s phonics group have been developing their awareness of sounds and rhymes. We really enjoyed making sounds with our bodies and playing the game noisy neighbour.

It has been a very busy week in Nursery and we have been making our best better to be the best that we can be!

Keep checking Nursery’s webpage and the academy’s Twitter page to find out what we have been getting up to! We hope you have a lovely half term break and we look forward sharing our learning with you in the final summer term. When we get back our colour of the week will be gold and our number of the week will be 11.
