In maths we have been focusing on finding one more than a given number, using mathematical language such as how many, in total, more than, equals and addition. We have played hopscotch with bean bags counting on one more each time and used compare bears to find one more through counting and matching. We are also learning to recognise numerals to 10 and beyond.

In English every Monday we share our weekend news. We do this by speaking in super sentences and then using our phonics to label the pictures that we draw. Our teachers enjoy finding out what we have been up to. Jessica went to the park to collect leaves:

We have had lots of fun creating with all of the lovely autumn leaves, conkers, twigs and fir cones we brought in. Autumn is one of the seasons of the year. We have been learning about how things change in autumn and we know that some animals get ready for hibernation.
