The Royal Garden Party

This week in maths we have been working with time, we have concentrated on making the o’clock time and half past. We know that the long hand on the clock goes around in 5’s. We also talked about half turns and starting to remember our left and right.

In English this week we have been reading the story of Paddington goes to the palace. Following our Best of British topic we have also been looking at the royal family. So we have created our own Royal character out of paper bags and written about this character. In Phonics we have been reading sentences, writing them down using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

We had a royal garden party on Tuesday, our parents and children enjoyed this time to shared cakes and play. We were hoping that the Queen would come and visit us but she was too busy.

Our caterpillars have started to make their chrysalis, we had to leave them alone for a few days so they could concentrate on this, it looks like a lot of hard work. We have discovered some facts about caterpillars, they have 12 eyes but they can’t see very well and their only job is to eat! We can’t wait to watch what happens next week.
