Autumn Term 1, Week 5 in Nursery!

posted 24 Oct 2017, 10:54 by Vicki Bowes

As always we have been extremely busy in Nursery! This week has been our final week of learning based around the theme of fairies and we have enjoyed every minute of it! It certainly has been a magical week!

When we arrived at Nursery on Monday morning, we couldn’t believe our eyes! A magical fairy door had appeared!

We enjoyed drawing pictures and writing notes to the fairy throughout the week! The book we have been reading this week is called ‘Magical Stories.’

Our favourite story was ‘Sunshine and Snow.’ A magical story about two twin fairies who are unable to agree on a theme for their birthday party.

After reading this story, we got a special video message from Crystal the fairy, one of the characters in the story. She set us a challenge! She said that if we wanted to go to her party, we needed to draw a picture of ourselves on her special party invitations.

After completing our challenge, we came up with a great idea! We decided to make fairy cupcakes for the special occasion. We had to ensure that we listened and followed instructions very carefully.

We really enjoyed working together as a group to make them and they tasted delicious too!

In maths we have been consolidating our knowledge of shapes and developing our understanding of their properties.

We really enjoyed going on a shape hunt around the academy, looking at the different shapes of objects.

On Wednesday we had ‘Sing and Sign’ with Dawn. We had so much fun learning new songs and consolidating our knowledge of signs that we have learnt in previous weeks.

As you can see, it certainly has been a very busy week in nursery and we have been making our best better to be the best that we can be!

Keep checking nursery’s webpage and the school’s Twitter page to find out what we have been getting up to! Next week we will be focusing on the grapheme n and our number of the week will be 6.

We look forward to our Harvest Festival on Thursday morning next week! We hope to see you there!
