Week 12 in Nursery!

posted 4 Dec 2017, 02:33 by Vicki Bowes

This week has been our penultimate week of learning based around the theme of Cinderella. It certainly has been a magical fairy tale week and we have enjoyed developing our understanding of the structure of fairy tales.

In maths, we have been consolidating of knowledge of shape and developing our understanding of shapes within our environment. On the maths table we enjoyed exploring the shape of objects that we see around us.

Linked to our learning about shape, we used computer software to explore shapes and their properties.

In the creative area we have enjoyed making magical wands like the fairy godmother in our story of the week! To make our best even better, we challenged ourselves to draw a picture of our magic wand.

On Thursday, we couldn’t believe our eyes! When we looked outside of the classroom window…….it was snowing! We went outside and worked together to make snowmen! We had so much fun!

We even brought a little snowman into the classroom. However he didn’t last long! We observed the changes that took place and we talked about what we thought had happened to him!

As you can see, it certainly has been a very busy week in nursery and we have been making our best better to be the best that we can be! Next week we look forward to starting our magical journey of all things Christmas!

Keep checking nursery’s webpage and the school’s Twitter page to find out what we have been getting up to! Next week we will be focusing on the digraph ck and our number of the week will be 13.
