Week 14 in Nursery!

posted 18 Dec 2017, 03:14 by Vicki Bowes

This week we have continued to embrace the magic of Christmas in Nursery!

Our story of the week this week was ‘A letter to Santa.’ This reminded us to write our own letters to Santa!

We drew pictures of the things that we would like for Christmas and we challenged ourselves to label our work using initial graphemes.

On the maths table we have enjoyed counting out the correct amount of buttons for Frosty the snowman and we challenged ourselves to represent our numbers.

In the creative area we have enjoyed making Christmas cards and calendars for people in our family.
On the playdough table we have been making reindeers and challenging ourselves to draw our creations.

We made the most of the snowy weather this week and we went outside to practise our mark making skills. We also compared the size of our footprints in the snow.

On Wednesday and Thursday we were involved in our Christmas performance. We sang ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star’ and we used signs that we had learnt with Dawn in Sing and Sign to help us sing the song. We made our family and teachers very proud!

As you can see, it has been a magical and busy week in Nursery and we have been making our best better to be the best that we can be! It’s a shame the same can’t be said for Elvis the elf who has been up to his usual tricks again! The children are helping him to make his best better.

Keep checking Nursery’s webpage and the school’s Twitter page to find out what we have been getting up to! Next week we look forward to our Christmas Nativity at the church on Tuesday, our Christmas party on Wednesday and Christmas jumper day on Thursday!
