Week 17 in Nursery

posted 26 Jan 2016, 05:57 by Vicki Bowes
This week in Nursery we have been developing our counting skills and we have been developing our gross motor movements.

Our story focus this week has been Snow White. We enjoyed retelling this story using story puppets and helping Miss Pounder read the story by joining in with repeated phrases.

Linked to our story focus last week, Hansel and Gretel, we really enjoyed working together to make our very own gingerbread house.

We worked together as a group to follow instructions and take turns.

Once we had made our gingerbread house, we enjoyed decorating it with lots of different candy. Just like the witch’s house in the story!

In maths we have been learning to count objects accurately and identify and represent numbers.

In our outdoor environment and through our play, we have been learning to develop our gross motor skills.

Despite the cold weather outside this week, we enjoyed developing and consolidating our learning in our outdoor environment!

It has been a very busy week in nursery and we have been making our best better to be the best that we can be!

Keep checking nursery’s webpage and the school’s Twitter page to find out what we have been getting up to! Next week we will be focusing on the grapheme b and our number of the week will be 18. Can you think of a word that begins with this grapheme? Can you count up to the number 18? What number is one less than 18? What number is one more than 18?
