Week 2 in Nursery

posted 25 Sep 2015, 03:04 by Vicki Bowes
We have been busy bees in nursery this week. Through our classroom areas and outdoor provision we have been focusing on the following aspects of learning; Speaking, Space, shape and measure, and effective characteristic of learning.

We have been learning to develop our awareness of pattern by identifying patterns around us, continuing patterns and challenging ourselves to create our own patterns.

Through our play we have been developing our ability to explore and seek challenge.

In phonics we have been learning to experience and develop our awareness of sounds made with instruments and noise makers. Thinking carefully about the sounds that they make, we have been developing our ability to use a wide range of vocabulary to talk about sounds. We really enjoyed playing listening games and singing songs and rhymes.

Linked to our learning about ourselves, we learnt a new song this week called ‘I am special.’ It goes like this……….

"I am special, I am special.

So are you, so are you.

We are very special, we are very special.

Yes it’s true, yes it’s true!"

Together we talked about what makes us special and unique. We learnt that we are all very special in every way. We really enjoyed looking inside Miss Pounder’s magic box, there was something very special inside…………ALL OF US!!!!!!

We certainly have been busy bees this week and we have been making our best better to be the best that we can be!

Keep checking nursery’s webpage and the schools Twitter page to find out what we have been getting up to! Next week our letter of the week is ‘t’ and our number of the week is 3. Can you think of a word that begins with this phoneme? Can you count up to 3?
