Week 2 in Nursery!

posted 27 Sep 2016, 14:09 by Vicki Bowes

We have had another exciting week in nursery. We have worked hard with our speaking and listening skills to make our best better.

Our focus story this week has been ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine.’ We have really enjoyed listening to this story and we think that George’s grandma is a grumpy lady. When she took the medicine she grew taller and taller. She even came out through the roof. George was worried that his dad would be cross. We watched a short clip that we enjoyed.

In maths this week we made our own marvellous medicine. We had to follow a recipe that George had sent us. Nobody wanted to try the medicine in case they grew really tall.

We also made some marvellous medicine for Mrs Steele during our forest school session. I’m not sure she wants to try it. It looks a bit disgusting!

The song that we have been singing in nursery this week was Baa, Baa black sheep. We changed the colour of the sheep to make up our own verses. We think that it would be funny to see pink sheep.

This week we visited the computer suite. It is tricky for us to gain mouse control but we all try our best.

In our topic session this week we made some cornflake crispie cakes. This helps us to develop our speaking and listening skills and we also love to eat them afterwards. A different group of children will get the opportunity to make something each week.

We are enjoying using our outdoor area for learning. As the weather begins to change it is important that we have suitable clothing. We do have a supply of waterproofs and wellies especially when we are in the digging pit.
