Week 32 in Nursery!

posted 9 Jun 2016, 14:36 by Vicki Bowes

This week in Nursery we have been consolidating our learning in the following aspects of development; Physical development, personal social and emotional development and communication and language.

Miss Pounder was pleased to receive some cards that the children had made in school and she is enjoying being a mummy.

Our story focus this week has been ‘Topsy and Tim and the new baby.’ We have enjoyed reading this book and we have discussed how babies change and grow if they have plenty of sleep and eat lots of healthy food.

This week we had PE in the hall. When we start our PE lesson we need to warm up our bodies so that we don’t hurt ourselves. Then we went on the large apparatus again. We love climbing.

In our maths lessons this week we were counting baby animals. We had to work out how many babies if there was 1 more. Sometimes the babies got lost and we had to work out 1 less! Mrs Cook was very impressed with our number recognition.

We have been practising our name writing this week. Some of us can write our names independently and some of us still need help with our mark making. It is important that we encourage the children to be the best that they can be.

Mr Page our caretaker set up a new reading bench outside. We love to share stories with our friends.

This week we have used the baby topic box. We have enjoyed looking after the babies. We have bathed them, changed their nappies, fed them and taken them for walks.

We have also enjoyed having the house in the small world area. This has helped us to develop our speaking and listening skills while we play.

Have a fabulous half term break and we look forward to seeing you all on 6th June.
