Week 33 in Nursery!

posted 12 Jun 2016, 00:53 by Vicki Bowes

This week in Nursery we have been consolidating our learning in the following aspects of development; Physical development, personal social and emotional development and communication and language.

Our story focus this week has been ‘The Tortoise and the Hare.’ We have enjoyed reading this book and we have talked a lot about the importance of exercise to keep our bodies fit and healthy.

This week we safely chopped up and ate different fruits and vegetables. This helped us to think about which fruits were or favourites when we drew them in the computer suite.

In our maths lessons this week we took the tortoise and the hare for a race to see who would win. We had to roll the dice and see how many steps the animals could take. This helped us with our counting and number recognition. We all sat and joined in, being the best that we could be.

As part of our sports week we had the opportunity to go on a bouncy castle. This was awesome exercise and it made our hearts beat louder and our breaths deeper.

James the sports coach also came into school to work with us. We had to work together as a team to play some games. In the nursery playground we ran laps to see how our bodies are effected by exercise.

It was lovely to see so many children coming to school this week with sun hats on. As part of our nursery practise children are expected to wear a sun hat on bright days.

Keep checking nursery’s webpage and the school’s Twitter page to find out what we have been getting up to!
