Week 35 in Nursery!

posted 29 Jun 2016, 06:59 by Vicki Bowes

This week in Nursery we have been consolidating our learning in the following aspects of development; Maths, Literacy and expressive art and design.

Our story focus this week has been ‘Winnie at the Seaside.’ In this story Winnie is too hot and so she goes for a trip to the seaside. While she is there she loses her broomstick!

In our Topic lessons this week we investigated a Seabass. This is a fish that has been caught by the fisherman at sea. After we had looked at it and touched it Mrs Dean cooked it in a pan. Next we tasted the Seabass, some of us thought that is was delicious.

In our vegetable patch we have grown some broad beans. We are looking forward to eating them soon.

In our maths lesson this week we named and then looked for 2D shapes. We enjoyed using our knowledge and skills to identify the shapes in a seaside picture.

On Monday we had our open day to welcome the children and families that will be joining us soon. It was a very busy afternoon and we were able to have a tasty ice lolly to cool us down.

Don’t forget that it is our EYFS trip to Preston Park on Wednesday 29th June. Please ensure that your child arrives on time ready for our busy and exciting day.

Keep checking nursery’s webpage and the school’s Twitter page to find out what we have been getting up to!
