Week 5 in Nursery!

posted 9 Oct 2016, 09:01 by Vicki Bowes

We have had another exciting week in nursery. We are noticing the changes in our outdoor environment as the season changes to autumn.

Our focus story this week has been ‘Oliver’s vegetables.’ We have really enjoyed listening to this story because Oliver decides to try lots of new vegetables and he thinks that they are tasty. You can listen to this story with us at home. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTYoaJY7k-Q

In our speaking and listening session this week we looked at and tasted some different vegetables. Then we talked about which ones we enjoyed.

Mrs Dean’s cooking group made vegetable soup this week. It was delicious!

In maths this week we weighed different items to find out which was the heaviest and which was the lightest. We can practise this skill when we go to the shops with you.

We also looked at animals that come out at night. They are called nocturnal; animals.

In PE this week we collected some vegetables from Old McDonalds vegetable patch. We needed to carry them in different ways.

For our song this week we have been practising for our Harvest Festival. We hope that you will all be able to join us over at Corpus Christi Church on Wednesday 12th October at 10am.
