Week 8 in Nursery!

posted 17 Nov 2017, 04:13 by Vicki Bowes

Welcome back everybody! We hope that you have had a relaxing break and are now ready to embark on a magical adventure with us for the remainder of the first autumn term. This week has been our initial week of learning based around the theme of Witches, Wizards and Magic.

The title of the story we have been reading in Nursery is ‘Winnie the Witch.’

We really enjoyed talking about and drawing pictures of our favourite part in the story.

Linked to our story of the week, we learnt a new song all about Winnie the Witch. Click on the link to listen to this song;

On Tuesday, we celebrated our learning with our parents and carers at our ‘Spooky Tea Party.’

It was a very successful afternoon and it was great to get our parents and carers involved in our learning.

We enjoyed making spooky crafts on the creative table.

On the playdough table we made spooky pumpkins and spiders.

On the investigation table we explored the concept of capacity by ordering Winnie's potion bottles.

In maths we have been developing our counting skills by counting spooky objects.

As you can see, it certainly has been a very busy week in nursery and we have been making our best better to be the best that we can be!

Keep checking nursery’s webpage and the school’s Twitter page to find out what we have been getting up to! Next week we will be focusing on the grapheme g and our number of the week will be 9.
