Week 16 in Reception

posted 26 Jan 2016, 06:58 by Vicki Bowes
In English this week our story focus has been TheTrue story of the Three Little Pigs. In this story we found out that the wolf had gone next door to borrow a cup of sugar from the pigs but that he had a terrible cold. When he sneezed, the house blew down!

In maths this week we have continued with counting. We have been listening to animal sounds and instruments to work out how many beats have been played.

In PE this week we had great fun practising our ball skills with James. We worked in pairs to roll, throw and kick the ball to each other. We had to think carefully about our skills so that our partner could catch the ball.

This week we have started doing a new task each day called ‘finger gym.’ This is a task that will help us develop the dexterity in our fingers which will then help us to become fantastic writers.

The weather this week has been rather wet but we still do like to go outside to play and learn. Can you make sure we bring a suitable coat for playing out and if possible it is helpful if we have a pair of wellies in school so that we are able to have more fun outside.
