Week 18 in Reception

posted 28 Jan 2016, 06:08 by Vicki Bowes
In English this week our story focus has been an alternative story to Goldilocks and the Three Bears, this weeks story was called Beware of the Bears. In this story the bears go looking for Goldilocks house so that they can make a mess. But, they are in for a big surprise when they find out who the house really belongs to. We have helped Goldilocks to write letters to the bears apologising for the mess that she made in their house.

In maths this week we have been counting and exploring how to write a number sentence to show addition. You can help us with our counting to help us to find 1 more. For example if you give us 3 chicken nuggets for our tea and asked us if we want 1 more. How many have we got now?

We are still continuing with our finger gym activities every morning. We are enjoying the routine of doing these activities everyday to build the dexterity in our fingers. This week we really enjoyed balancing the cups to build a tower. This activity also had us using problem solving and working as a team. We also enjoyed carefully standing up the dominoes without letting them fall over.

We will be doing forest schools for the next 2 weeks before half term. Please can you make sure we have suitable shoes for outside and hats and gloves if possible.
Thank you.
