Week Ending 29.04.2016!

This week we have continued our topic on life cycles. In English we have been looking at the information book ‘Eggs to Chickens’ and the story ‘The Little Yellow Chick’. The children have carried on their study of the life cycle of the chicken and have written facts about the chicks as well as completing observational paintings of them. The children have also written party invitations linked to the little yellow chick story.

In maths this week we have been describing the properties of 2D shapes. We have sorted shapes and food stuff using a range of criteria.

We have used geo boards and elastic bands to create shapes.

We also had a visit from the school nurse, who talked to the children about the importance of hand hygiene. The children also got to use the special infrared machine to show where the dirt and germs can remain on our hands if we don’t wash them thoroughly.

As part of our ever busy week, the children also had the opportunity to work with a music teacher from Tees Valley Music Service, who will be teaching the children drumming over the next few weeks.
