Week 23 in Reception!

posted 15 Mar 2016, 10:41 by Vicki Bowes
In English this week our story focus has been the story ‘Little Moon.’ In this story Little Moon goes on a journey through our universe as he meets planets, a black hole and stars in search of a warm, cosy place he can call home. Some of the planets he met were not very nice to him. But a kindly comet introduced Little Moon to the rocky planets who were much friendlier. Then Little Moon saw the most beautiful planet ever, it was blue and green with patches of brown. Moon and Earth became great friends. The children have been challenged to look at the shape of the moon at night.

In maths this week we have been learning about the properties of 3D shapes Cubes and cuboids are very similar we had to work hard to identify the difference.

We completed a shape walk in the environment.

We have continued with our space topic this week and we have begun to make some models and pictures of rockets and aliens.
