Week 15 in Class 2

Year 1/2 have had a very busy, festive end to the Autumn term!

We started the week with a 'Forest Schools' morning, taking our learning outside. The children were challenged to build a habitat for their choice of animal, for which they had to gather appropriate forest materials. They were also given the task of building a shelter which was great fun! Furthermore, we were fortunate enough to toast some marshmallows and dip them in melted chocolate to eat. This provided the children with the opportunity to learn about fire safety - all of the children acted extremely maturely, never entering the 'fire circle' until being invited inside by Mrs Vaughan and then kneeling down on one knee to toast their marshmallow, keeping it at arm's length. On Wednesday afternoon, after a delicious Christmas dinner, we ventured over to the Arc in Stockton for a performance of 'Arthur's Dreamboat'.

Finally on Thursday afternoon, we had a brilliant time at our Christmas party! We danced to our favourite music, played party games and tucked into some yummy party food - what a treat! Thank you to all families who contributed some food for the party, it was very much appreciated.

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your support this term and wish you a very Merry Christmas! We look forward to continuing to work alongside you in the new year to support your children to make their best even better! Have a lovely holiday!
