A message from Class 3

As we approach the half term holiday, it is a good opportunity to reflect upon our progress in such a short time. The children in Class 3 have quickly settled and they have worked incredibly hard.

In maths, our mental strategies are improving and speeding up. In fact we love any opportunity to show off our calculation skills and love any type of quiz or test!
We are all busy writers! At home you may have noticed just how much your child enjoys writing and that their handwriting has significantly improved. We are also beginning to use our phonic work to help us improve our spelling.

Through reading and discussion we are developing our speaking and listening skills. We are the only class to have taken part in two performances so far this term. We have completed our class assembly and participated in our Harvest Festival. We work hard to prepare for these events. Here is a photograph of us working on our lines and actions.

We are developing a love for reading through sharing lots of books and texts. We have focused upon the author Julia Donaldson. At home you may be interested in watching a clip in which this very famous author suggests ways that you can support your child when reading at home too: http://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/julia-donaldsons-top-tips
A big thank you to all of parents that regularly read with their child and help them with homework. We really appreciate all your continued help and support.

We hope you all have a lovely, restful half term.
