In maths we have been working hard on column addition and subtraction as well as beginning to use the grid method to multiply big numbers together. We have also completed tests in maths that have shown us how much progress we have made already this year. To help us get warmed up on a morning our teacher has been showing us how to play the fizz-buzz game to help us learn our 3 times and 5 times tables.

We have continued to write non-chronological reports about everything this week; Singapore, China, India and harvest. We have tried to include a range of sentence types in our work and a variety of punctuation. We have seen a massive improvement in our written work and lots of us are proud to show off the final drafts of our writing.

On the computers and iPads we have been using our new favourite tool, Purple Mash, for everything from writing up work, to helping us make 3D models. We can’t wait to get hold of our own log-ins for Purple Mash so that we can use it to complete our homework and show people at home what we can do on the computers.
