The Tiger Child
The children in Class 6 have been reading and listening to the folktale of ‘The Tiger Child’ by Joanne Troughton. This links to our project ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ where we have been learning about the countries that Phileas Fogg visited on his journey.

Around The World in 80 Days
We have started reading the story of ‘Around the World in 80 days’ where a man travels around the world visiting different countries. This week we have enjoyed learning about London which we had many questions about including ‘How many houses does the Queen have?’ and ‘What is at the Tower of London?’

We have also visited France this week; we have tasted French bread, cheese and pate’ we have learnt about the population, the flag, the money and things they grow in France.

Maths Work
Our maths this work has focused on column addition. Mr Barnbrook worked in Class 6 this week to teach some of our maths. We have been practising to tell the time during our maths morning meeting and we are working hard to develop our multiplication skills.
