In Science we have been looking at keeping healthy. The Eatwell Guide is based on the main food groups that together provide a healthy, balanced diet: Potatoes, bread, rice, pasta and other starchy carbohydrates. Fruit and vegetables. Dairy and alternatives. Beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat and other proteins. We created our own Eatwell plates of food and discussed what would make a healthy meal.

In Maths we have been looking at our four and eight times tables. There are lots of songs to help you learn them on youtube – here are a few links which we use in the classroom:

We have been completing lots of work on instructional writing in English and Project. We went over to the dining hall and made peach cheesecake – which was delicious. After that, we had to plan and write our own instructions to tell someone how to make it. Here is some of our work:

In Art we have been creating giant peaches after reading the story of James and the Giant Peach. What do you think of them?
