Year 4 October 2016

In year four we have been working very hard over the last couple of weeks.

Our work was on display in Middlesbrough town centre as part of the Nightfall event. If you visit our school Twitter page you can hear the stories we made up about the constellations. It looked magical all lit up at night.

In maths we have been continuing with investigating patterns and are getting much quicker at our times tables.

In English we have been engrossed in our James and the Giant Peach topic. We have designed and created insects to star in an adventure story alongside James and have focused on describing them in great detail.

In our PLO we also made a peach cheesecake in groups and tasted it; it was delicious. During the PLO we practised lots of skills including; speaking and listening, reading for meaning, measuring, halving, counting and team work.

Our giant peaches are now almost finished and just need the finishing touches adding to them before they can be displayed.

We have been continuing with electricity in Science and can make circuits with switches and draw them accurately.

In PE we have been concentrating on our skipping skills in preparation for the upcoming skipping festival in December! We have almost mastered them all!

We were also extremely proud of the scarecrows we created for the scarecrow factory exhibition. Ours were the characters from The Twits.
