Year 4 September 2016

We have had such a busy start to Year 4 with Miss Smith.

We celebrated what would have been Roald Dahl's 100th birthday at the beginning of term and we have enjoyed doing lots of work inspired by Roald Dahl.

In English we have been describing Mr and Mrs Twit and hot seating the Twits! We have just moved on to work on James and the Giant Peach. Keep checking for our amazing stories inspired by the insects James meets!

In art we have created Mr Twit using lots of different resources...

In DT we are in the middle of creating something out of papier mache from James and the Giant Peach! We will update you with the finished products as soon as they are ready!

In Maths we have been investigating number looking at Roman numerals, place value, ordering numbers and rounding. Lots of representing to  secure our understanding and Alex even got a principal award for challenging himself to convert some very large numbers into Roman numerals!

In PE we are focusing on fitness and tag rugby. We are enjoying circuit training and practising our sideways passing at the minute!

We have also had a trip to Saltburn Beach as part of our Coastal Schools sessions! We went litter picking and explored the rock pools!

Roll on October to see what other amazing things Year 4 can get up to!
