During our first week in year 6 we have been getting back into the daily routines of school, things such as daily handwriting.

Here is a photo of Josh taking part in a Science investigation.

We had an internet safety talk with Miss Foster from the children's charity Barnardo's. She told us how to stay safe online and what personal information we should not give out to people as they might not be who we think they are. She told us about apps and websites that are safe and fun for children our age to use.

We have a Roald Dahl theme in school for the next few weeks as it would have been his 100th birthday. We have been doing some research about the famous author and reading his book ‘Boy’. We have been writing about ourselves as we are going to write our own autobiographies. This is linked to this weeks homework of talking about your family with your child.

During ICT we have read the opening to Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl, we have made story boards ready to make comic strips on Comic Life. Our next step is to make the characters ready to use in the comic strips.

We have started investigating number in Maths looking at Place Value, decimals, percentages and multiplying and dividing numbers by 10, 100 and 1000.

During PE we will look at fitness, we will do fitness tests and see if our fitness increases over the following weeks. We will discuss our circulatory system and heart as part of our fitness topic.
