Encompass - going live from 1st October 2015

Operation Encompass is a multi-agency approach to give early notification to schools, academies and colleges that a child or young person has been present, witnessed or been involved in a domestic abuse incident. Nominated Key Adults (safeguarding leads) within local schools will receive information from Cleveland Police to afford them the opportunity of assessing the needs of the child during the school day and, should it be deemed appropriate to do so, to provide early support.

Following on from the successful launch of Operation Encompass in Hartlepool, the Chief Constable and the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) gave a commitment for it to be implemented across the remainder of the force. Shane Sellers, Cleveland Police has been tasked with working with both Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland local authorities to jointly launch it in both Borough’s on 1st October 2015.

This initiative further supports our academy's commitment to help our families.  We will always look to ensure our pupils receive additional support and guidance through the various mechanisms we have in place: meet and greet, chill and chat, talking & drawing therapy etc,  but will target appropriate additional support when in receipt of specific information via Operation Encompass.
